AMITY WORKS COFFEE RUNS RIDES

Community Works

Community Works is our project for under-18s who need a safe, supportive space to learn bike repair and maintenance. No fees. No pressure. Just hands-on time with tools, and a chance to take home a bike they’ve helped bring back to life.

What happens in the sessions?

•  Basic bike mechanics: brakes, gears, wheels, chains.

•  Full rebuilds when we have donated bikes to work on.

•  Safety checks and road-readiness.

•  Drinks, snacks, and real talk — no judgement.

Who it’s for?

Young people facing challenges — whether that’s family stuff, school struggles, or just needing somewhere positive to be.

All abilities welcome — never touched a bike tool before? That’s fine.

How it works

Sessions run weekly (starting early 2026 once the workshop is fully set up at Priory Road).

We partner with local youth groups, schools, and referral partners to reach the right young people.

Every participant gets a bike (donated or refurbished) when they complete the course — theirs to keep.

Why we do this

We’ve worked with young people informally and formally for years — through schools, youth clubs, rides, quick fixes, life chats.

A dedicated space means we can scale it: more kids, more impact, more stories of kids who go from “I can’t” to “I did.”

How to get involved

•  Young people / parents: Get in touch via email or DM — we’ll chat and see if it’s a fit.

•  Schools / youth organisations: Email hello@amity.works to discuss referrals or partnerships.

•  Donations: Bikes, tools, spare parts, helmets and lights always needed. Message us to arrange collection.

Community Works isn’t charity.

It’s investment. In kids. In skills. In our community.

If you’re a young person ready to learn something new, or know someone who is — give us a shout.
